This is a fine British Naval Cutlass measuring 35" in overall length with a slightly curved meaty blade of nearly 30". The blade is stamped WOOLEY & DEAKIN, who worked in LONDON from 1780 until 1830. The grip is of fluted fine grained hardwood, with a single stirrup type brass guard. This is a very imposing weapon, the blade without fullers on either side, resulting in a very heavy weapon.
