Original U.S. WWI Model 1918 Mark I Trench Knife Converted to WWII Fighting Knife with Leather Scabbard Crimean War Overall a fantastic an exceedinglyOriginal Item: Only One Available. At first glance, we assume this was one of many "Theater Made" fighting knives deployed mostly in the Pacific theater of WWII. However, once we removed the scabbard it was clear that this fighting knife began life as a WWI Model 1918 Trench Knife, and then was modified for WWII use by removing the knuckle guard portion. The crossguard was ground down, as were the sides of the grip, one of which is now marked LUTHER,
