Pig Data by Anne Vegter, translated by Astrid Alben Linda France Sumerian and ArabicWith its moving, breathtaking poetry, Pig Data stands as one of the most remarkable and artistically ground breaking works of contemporary Dutch poetry in recent years. Pig Data brings together three historical and mythic figures the South African poet Ingrid Jonker, the mythical witch Medea, and the poetic I (evoking the trope of the scorned woman) to explore themes of deception, power dynamics in relationships, the male gaze, and female rage.
