This is an original German Saxony Model 1867 Infantry Officers Sword with typical decorated brass hilt comprising the royal coat of arms of the State of Saxony to the guard. Most examples of this model have a folding guard, so this is likely an earlier example. The grip is wire wrapped sharkskin, and the blade has a deeply engraved royal cypher. The 31 blade is triple fullered on both sides, with the etching
