This is a great example of a Colonial Era British or American tomahawk. The head is in remarkable condition with some pitting and does appear to be ground dug. The handle is a replacement but it gives this tool (or weapon!) a fantastic new appearance. This example appears to be ground dug, as there are signs of very old pitting present on the head.
