Called in German a Infanterie Sturmabzeichen in Silber, this genuine badge is constructed of silvered die struck zinc. Over time, the silvering can wear and flake off, showing the oxidized base metal, which is grayish. This example still shows about 25% of the silver wash on the front, with 50% on the back. Considering that many examples we receive have it completely missing, this is definitely a better than average
