For 2014's Pale Communion, the Swedish metal band takes on a more melodic approach resulting in a sound equally moving as it is heavy. Producer frontman Mikael Akerfeldt has said, "I wanted to do something more melodic with this album, so there's stronger vocal melodies and more melodies overall for this album." This stylistic shift is apparent throughout, especially on the single "Cusp of Eternity," "Elysian
